SFS School, Narengi, Guwahati is the result of the dream and aspiration of Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales, North East India Province. The school is a unity of the Mermier Educational Society. The genesis of the school can be traced back to the year 1998 with a student enrollment of 70 in Class I. The school began with the course curriculum of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) but since 2010, it is under the affiliation of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The first batch of Class 10 students passed from the school with flying colours in the year 2008 and the school started the senior secondary section in the year 2011. At the beginning of the school Fr. George Thomas MSFS was the president of the Society and Fr. Tomy Thekkel the first principal of the school.
